S2, Ep 3: Kiss Me and Die. When his brother vanishes without a trace, American Robert Stone goes to his last known location: a remote English village. But he finds things all a little bit odd there and not everyone seems to welcome his presence. However he find himself captivated by a mysterious girl called Dominie, the niece of Jonathan Lanceford, who is the owner of a gothic mansion in the village and who turns out to be a lover of all things Edgar Allan Poe. Could his brother's fate be linked to there, or is it more closer to home that danger lies?
Starring George Chakaris, Jenny Agutter, Anton Diffring, Russell Hunter, John Sharp, Stephen Grief, Peggy Sinclair, John Atkinson, Barry James, Raymond Mason, Sue Robinson, Peter Casillas and Peter Elliot. Originally broadcast on February 9th 1974, this is one of those trans American-English collaborations episodes and it's not a bad effort at that. It's starting premise is pretty good and mysterious as George Chakiris (still going strong at 94) goes to discover why his brother has disappeared and leads him to a quiet little village where the locals are somewhat cagey. And finding himself attracted to Jenny Agutter (and who can blame him?) could also prove unwise in a thriller that remains intriguing, even if you may twig where this is leading about halfway through. Enjoy.
