Storyboard - Single's Night (1984)

Jackie persuades the reluctant Pam to go to a local singles club to forget a complicated relationship she has gotten into with a married man. But what they don't know is that not everybody is as they seem, as they soon discover when they are approached by two men, Malcolm and his uncertain friend Clive... Starring Jane Carr, Angela Richards, Robin Nedwell, John Kavanagh, Patricia Brake, Doug Fisher, Michael Lees, Denis Gilmore, Jane Bough, Ray Chaney, Pamela Maguire, Ronald Markham, Barry McGuire, Sarah Parr-Byrne, Derek Suthern, Colin Thomas and Janet Varley. This is an unusual edition from the TV anthology series Storyboard in the mid 1980's due to the fact that when it was broadcast it decided to release itself separate from the series on June 19th 1984. However, like many of the Storyboard editions, this too managed to secure itself a series, but it took until 1988 for it to do so, running for 3 years until 1991. This was something I saved from Mick's Nostalgia Channel before it disappeared from Youtube, so you have him to thank for this. It's a light but intriguing look at a singles bar in the 1980's, with some familiar sitcom faces (such as Robin Nedwell - Doctor in the House, and Patricia Brake - Porridge) as well as a couple of 80's hits among the soundtrack that some may enjoy.
