Armenian saz

The saz is a ancient Armenian folk instrument that has been passed down to the modern Armenians by their ancient ancestors the Urartians and Hittites , the instrument was a instrument carried into war for protection , it was believed to have protective properties , the instrument is commonly mentioned in many Armenian folklores such as "Davit of Sasoun" , the saz is made out of mahogany , spruce , and hornbeam, 7 strings ( in pairs of 2 , 2 , and 3 ) tuned " GDA"
