Part 1 Кожин (Павел Майков) / Kozhin (Pavel Maykov) - Курсанты (The Cadets)

This is a collection of scenes from the Russian mini-series titled " Курсанты " (The Cadets) , aired in 2004. The focus of this collection is the sinister NKVD Spetsotdel officer , Captain Kozhin, played by Pavel Maykov. Amoung fans of the series, Kozhin is a subject of debate because some consider him to be the least "realistic" of the characters. My personal interpretation is that Maykov proficiently portrays him as much a symbol as an actual character. Kozhin, along with other officers in his branch of the NKVD, were very powerful in Stalin's Russia. Their official duties included background checks, hunting out spies, and exposing "Enemies of The People". Their officers had the authority to arrest people almost at will and their senoir ranking officers could order executions. They were feared by almost all segments of Soviet society, including regular army. This is part 1 of 2.
