In 1807, the Church didn't hand enslaved people the Bible. They handed them an edited one — with the way out cut clean off.
This Lego-style historical film tells the true, documented story of the "Slave Bible," officially titled "Parts of the Holy Bible, selected for the use of the Negro Slaves, in the British West-India Islands." It was printed in London on behalf of the Society for the Conversion of Negro Slaves, the missionary body founded by the Bishop of London, Beilby Porteus.
A standard Bible has 1,189 chapters. This one kept 232. Around 90% of the Old Testament and 50% of the New Testament were removed. The Exodus story — God leading His people out of slavery — was deleted on purpose. Galatians

21:16, Deuteronomy
23:15–16, and the Book of Revelation were taken out. The story of Joseph and "servants, obey your masters" were kept in.
Told from an outside-observer perspective — Africa and Iran speaking directly to Black Americans — this is not theory. Three copies of this book still exist. One sits in Washington today. You can stand in front of it.
