Ukraine on the edge of revolution, street clashes and mass riots in Kiev

The street clashes, which began on Sunday after the government introduced new laws against protests, appear to mark a distinct shift in the mostly peaceful mass demonstrations against President Viktor Yanukovych. Protesters kept up a near-constant bombardment of police lines near the Verkhovna Rada parliament in the capital. Police replied with rubber bullets, stun grenades and teargas in temperatures that sank to -10C. Street clashes and mass riots in Kiev still continues as Ukraine moves toward a new revolution.
