Countdown was a weekly comic for boys, published in Britain. In order to fight the rising popularity of television, which was gradually killing off comics, it mainly contained strips that were based on popular tv shows, including 'Doctor Who', 'UFO', and 'Hawaii Five-0'.

In Britain, a 'Holiday Special' was traditionally a special extra-long issue of a weekly comic, published once a year around Easter time, as a complement to the hardback Annual."
